Good Vibe – Close to home

I have always enjoyed live music and have been to some phenomenal shows over the years. The evening is particularly enjoyable when the journey to and from the venue is considered by the event organisers and is made smooth and effortless. I have been to some great performances but have on occasion been let down by the venue’s carparking and transport arrangements which had left me wondering, “Was that show really worth being stuck in a carpark cue for two hours afterwards trying to get home?”

Recently, a good friend invited me out one evening to a local bar in a quiet suburban neighbourhood of Brisbane. It was an open mic evening and there was a solid line up of gigs all night. And what a fantastic night it was! The bar was super cosy with enough space that everyone had a seat yet it maintained that intimate vibe. The acts were great, it was easy to get to the bar and we finished the night having had a blast – plus we were only a 10 minute walk home.

I came away thinking that was the sort of night I wanted to have again. Intimate, good vibe, close to home, plus supporting local businesses and up and coming talent – Karyn, Brisbane, QLD, Australia
